Land of Offshore Winds
How many times have you spent allot of money to get to a remote surf spot and find a break that just needed a little offshore wind.
I know I have been to alot of spots that just needed a little tide, or less tide, or offshore winds, or more swell, or less swell, it's enough to drive you crazy sometimes. Especially if the tide is right in the afternoon after it blows out, that's the knockout blow.
But I have recently discovered a place that blows offshore alllll dayyyy longggg!... Yea, I know Hawaii has the trades, as well as Indonesia, but they also have the crowds, and not just average crowds, insane crowds. The kind of crowds that can drive you deep into the most remote places in the world to find some peace.
I have to admit I might have just found such a place, not so remote, not so punchy, and definitely not long to last, because what I've seen lately about this whole new "Surf Buzz", is that the world is shrinking fast, alarmingly fast. Spots that can offer good surf are being scanned night and day by people looking to install surf camps, boat tours, etc. They pour over maps, and charts of coastlines in distant countries looking for that new opportunity, like finding gold. They'll bring some pros, shoot an article, blow it up, bada bing..blam, instant surf camp....sell it out quick, make some cash, be a surf star..blah blah blah....give me a break!
Anyway enough ranting, Corporate America is here in my world to stay, and it's up to me to stay ahead of it..I have to be smarter before it catches me...And what I leave behind is This, for your enjoyment, photos to enjoy.....no maps, no directions, just a tip for you to expand on.

I had the opportunity to take a couple of weeks and head to Central America for some R&R.
I wasn't looking for full blown hardcore life or death barrels over shallow reefs, as I had a rough Winter and Spring struggling with an aging back that refused to let me surf the way I'm used to. I wanted to get back my strength, and simply unwind. I also didn't have a lot of time to suss out the situation so I went for a no brainer, and called a guy I met in Baja back in the early Nineties.
