Land of Offshore Winds
What was ahead of me was to be one of the more relaxing surf trips I had had in years. Early mornings were filled with surfing, fishing, and banana pancakes. Midday was filled with more surfing and fishing, afternoons were filled with eating lunch, reading, and napping, and evenings were filled with more surfing, dinner, and an occasional Cervesa...or two...or three.
I was living in a small modest house in a fishing village, and was pretty much the only Gringo in town. Alot of the time I was surfing by myself, being the first one on it early in the morning, and also in the evenings when everyone was gone.
It was so relaxing just blending in to the local scenery, nice and quiet with no other surfers buzzing around making a big scene.
My favorite time was in the evening after surfing by myself watching the sunset on the short boat ride back to the village. The lobster divers heading in with their catch, beaching their pongas, everyone waiting on the shore ...And myself looking forward to another lobster dinner.
