To those that are confused about what this information provides, this should clear things up.
We are a full service retail surf shop offering the best products, services, and 30 yrs. of expertise in the surf industry.
Cowboy Surf Shop is not a commercial "Surf Reporting" agency, or have any intensions on offering those kinds of services. For those services you have many choices from "Free" to "Pay For". There are many to choose from, and can be found on the internet.
Part of being in this particular sport is to learn what breaks work on what swells, winds, tides, ect. We do not teach that here, this is something that time, patience, and learning will provide.
We provide all the pertinent information, (swell, wind, tides), that knowledgeable surfers can use to determine where the best waves will be that day, or whether it's even worth going surfing that particular day.
We feel that this is a great help to those who do not live on the coast, and need these reports to help them with their search.
Our information is received upon opening our store,10:00 A.M. Mon-Fri, and 9:00 A.M. Weekends, and some holidays.
We do not employ reporters calling in wind changes or swell heights, and therefore have no system in place for an update. Please do not call us and ask for one.
We provide a separate dedicated phone line, as well as an expensive phone system for the surf conditions so we can concentrate on servicing our customers when they are in need of the right fitting wetsuit, or explaining which surfboard best fits their needs. Calls on our main line for conditions will not have any additional information from our report.
Our goal is to give our customers our undivided attention when making inquiries or purchases on our products. This is what We Do.
